'Woodlanding': Friday in the Woods

  • White House Farm, Gt. Glemham Saxmundham IP17 1LS United Kingdom (map)

What to expect

Take a break - step away, momentarily, from everything. Follow your instinct into the woods.

This is a six week course, running for a full day each consecutive Friday. With a focus on habitat awareness, these small groups are carefully curated, whether you’re new to the course, or continuing on, to have fun, listen to wildlife, be still with yourself, discover bushcraft, fire building, outdoor cooking, experiment with tool use and green woodworking, pursue creative explorations, learn about coppicing, shelter building, tree medicine, foraging and species identification, making botanical preparations and seed-saving. You’ll be immersed within this pristine area of natural beauty with lofty Douglas firs, a spiritual Yew grove, elderly Larch trees, established Elms, ancient coppices of Sweet Chestnut and Hazel, characterful Oaks, fungi & lichen, tranquil birdlife, and the beloved homes of many woodland creatures.

Led by Sarah Frances, a qualified Forest School Practitioner and Herbologist.
