Spring Herbs & Foraging

  • White House Farm Great Glemham, IP17 1LS Suffolk (map)

What to expect

Gather around the fire, Walk amongst the woodland glade and enjoy the potential of the wild plants and herbs on the farm.

This is a woodland based workshop. We will identify flowers, herbs and trees, exploring their uses, traditions and folklore, and forage the botanicals needed to make seasonal Spring tonics infusions. This is an opportunity to experiment in a relaxed atmosphere creating your own preparations to take away.

We will gather herbs to make lunchtime preparations and to take home. During the day you will also be guided through the process of making a traditional birch besom broom. We will gather round the campfire to share a warming homemade soup and bread.

With a focus on habitat awareness, these small groups are carefully curated. You’ll be immersed within this pristine area of natural beauty with lofty Douglas firs, a spiritual Yew grove, elderly Larch trees, established Elms, ancient coppices of Sweet Chestnut and Hazel, characterful Oaks, fungi & lichen, tranquil birdlife, and the beloved homes of many woodland creatures.
